Dan Delaney is a Linux and Windows system administrator, systems architect, database designer, and computer programmer in Louisville, Ky. He's been building and programming computers since 1984, and began administrating Linux systems and developing Web-based database applications in 1996. From 1993 to 2000 Dan taught professional education classes on Photoshop, FreeHand, PageMaker, QuarkXPress, and Web Development for the University of Louisville and IvyTech. From 1996 to 2000 he worked at the University of Louisville as Computer Adminstrator for the Printing & Publications department, and as a Perl programmer in Information Systems. From 2000 to 2014 and 2016 to 2020 he worked as a Senior Software Engineer and System Administrator for Power Creative, one of Louisville's largest ad agencies. From January 2014 through November 2015 he was the IT Infrastructure Manager at The Learning House, a company that helped small colleges put their degree programs online. After going back to Power Creative for five years, he returned to the University of Louisville in 2021 as the Director of IT Infrastructure. He holds an associate's degree in Electronic Technology, a bachelor's degree in Philosophy, and a master's degree in Sociology.

Led transition to Puppetized virtual environments. Led transition of call center trunks from PRI to SIP. Began transition to containerizing applications on cloud services such as AWS and Azure. Built and managed a 3-node MySQL Galera cluster and 6-node Linux cluster running separate installations of Moodle for over 100 colleges.
